John graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1988. While there, he served as President of the Moot Court Board. Following graduation, John joined the law firm then known as Boehl Stopher Graves & Deindoerfer in Louisville, Kentucky, and later became a Partner in that firm. In 1999, John became a founding member of Phillips Parker Orberson & Moore, PLC.
In 1999 John obtained a Master of Business Administration from Bellarmine University in Louisville, where he later served as adjunct Professor of Management. He has also been an adjunct Professor of Paralegal Studies at the University of Louisville, and is currently an adjunct member of the faculty at Indian Wesleyan University and at Louisville Bible College, where he teaches a variety of courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. John is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Southeast Christian Church Community Counseling Center, and is a past board member of Just Solutions Mediation Services. He is also a past member of the Jefferson County Foster Care Review Board.
For most of his career, John has practiced primarily in various areas of Mass Tort litigation. He has represented a variety of defendants in asbestos personal injury litigation, including product manufacturers, contractors, and premises owners. He is also involved in respiratory protection litigation involving silica and coal dust exposures. In addition, John has litigated matters involving motor vehicle collisions, slip-and-fall accidents, property damage, defamation, wrongful discharge, professional negligence, toxic exposures, and breach of contract.
In addition to his litigation practice, John provides mediation, arbitration and Christian conciliation services. He has received extensive training in these fields through both Just Solutions Mediation Services and Peacemaker Ministries/Institute for Christian Conciliation.
John and his wife Kimi have been married since 1989 and have two children, Adam and Grace. John is a member of Southeast Christian Church, where he teaches the Empower Adult Bible Fellowship class and is involved in various other areas of volunteer service. He enjoys coaching flag football, basketball, and baseball, spending time with his wife, talking sports with his son, and saying yes to his daughter. |
